"Something to Think About"

I really hope you will consider running for president next year. Trust me, your age will not be a detriment. Your love for theatre, in general, is enough to make you the perfect person for the job. Hmmm, something to think about.

I just received this from the current President of our board. While flattering, I don't think I am right for consideration. I don't do confrontation, our ED is overbearing and a little on the crazy side (who in theatre isn't), and I'm no good at speaking up.

I used to be good at speaking up. In fact, I never hesitated to speak up. But I have realized that being right and making sure everyone knows you are right are two very different things.

I'm slowly getting better at this game.
